General FBA woes
-
Hi all!
Pi Model or other hardware: 3
Power Supply used: Official 2.5A
RetroPie Version Used: 4.2.13
Built From: SD Image from website and fully updated
Emulator: lr-fpalphaBeen a while! Getting back into the fun of things!
I am not directly asking for a solution but more somebody shedding light on the whole FBA/Romset thing.
I remember having a mostly (90%) working romset which now has become 99% not working.
Ok I can figure this out I am sure but I remember having quite a lot of struggles back when but managed to "magically" fix them with Clrmamepro but to understand this better I am more sort of wondering the thought process behind this entire thing. Just to grasp it and perhaps make my own life easier.
The games currently emulated by FBA (or at least in my case are CPS1/2/3) are quite older titles. When one thinks of emulators for any other system definitive versions of ROMs exist. This doesn't seem to be the case and may even vary from emulator to emulator. Now I can understand MAME VS FBA but why within FBA itself? The data is there, why so much difference? Why the need to make it matching?
Sorry if this sounds like a rant :D but to be able to understand the process of getting this working I have to understand the logic behind the current setup.
Thanx for any advice or clarification.

@shoothere romsets are all explained in the documentation. Fba has been updated many times and as it's updated the romsets required also need to be updated

@shoothere the latest romset now has the decryption key in the rom instead of the emulator for cps1 and 2 games. So with the updated fba, most capcom games just stopped working.
