Fresh install w/roms & scrape on USB, will they stay?
-
I did an initial install of RetroPie 4.2 and did the automatic setup for roms to be played from a USB drive(https://retropie.org.uk/docs/Running-ROMs-from-a-USB-drive/).
I also setup the scrape to store images & gamelist with the roms(on the usb).
I just wanted to confirm, if I do a fresh install of RetroPie that once I insert my USB drive that's all I need to do to get me back up and running playing games from the USB stick?
Is there anything special I need to do?
The USB stick still has the root folder of retropie-mount.
Will there be any issues with the scrapes?Thanks for the help

I would like to know this too. Currently, I have all my video snaps, images and other meta data all on my sd card (which I don't want). Using the built in scrapper for RetroPie, all the meta data downloads straight to the sd card. Universal XML Scrapper is really good and I'm currently using that, it too won't let me decide where to download the meta data. It gives you 2 options, Raspberry Pi or Locally on your pc. I tried manually changing the paths after downloading from universal xml scrapper, but it didn't work for me. Lastly, I tried Emumovies, which was super fast, dumb easy and probably the best scrapper I've used. But I don't know how to point Emulation Station to all the meta data on my flash drive that I downloaded from Emumovies. I still have all that meta data on my flash drive in hopes of one day I can use them in Emulation Station. For now, I gave up and just enjoy my Pi the way it is.Haven't tried selphs scrapper (think I missed spelled it, sorry), but maybe that could download and store all meta data on the flash drive instead of the sd card?
I followed this very helpful video to use my usb flash drive for roms, which method did you use?

@yfresh59 ALL GOOD!
I created a new SD Card, updated everything, turned on USB ROM Transfer Service and stuck in the USB Stick.
When I restarted all my ROM and Scrapes showed up. -
Correct.
Just for sanity checking, I'd see if you have any downloaded content in ~/.emulationstation/downloaded_images or gamelists and if so merge them with your current one on the USB drive - copy the images to the right folders, and you'll need to manually edit the gamelist content with a text editor to merge it. This will have been one-off scrapped content, though, so I don't expect it to be much.
Edit: oops, I see you already did it.
