      Hi there,

Thanks id like to say what an amazing site this is, I came here looking for information and just found myself reading through so many forum posts and learning a great deal, in fact it was this forum which kind of got me into this problem in the first place...
After checking out the awesome "projects" section I decided to make my own..
everything seems fine except I am having this last problem.

I am using a raspberry pi 3, I am also using the official raspberry pi screen, and for the control pad I decided to go all in and try to build one with a teensy++2.0.
I have got everything wired up correctly and I can start the retro pi.
Once everything is loaded I am asked to set my button config in emulation station, this goes to plan. however the next section I try to select "retropi setup" and the teensy goes dead, in fact if I press anything in this second "retropie" menu it seems to run some scripts and then teensy goes dead.
The weird thing is if I leave it for a while all backlights dims (as expected) but when I click a button all lights brighten but I still cannot do anything.

      Any help would be amazing!
      thanks you for your time.

A bit more information in case it helps?
Every time I start the raspberry pi when I get to emulation station I have to re input all of my controls even if I did it successfully.
I am able to post my code from my teensy however it basically loops through all pins checking state, and I have the actual device set to a serial keyboard, mouse, joystick

hope this extra info helps :)
        thanks again

            HI there
thanks so much for getting back to me!
I am sorry to be a pain, however I am fairly new to this, what is meant by keyboard emulation?
Do you mean the options in the Aurduino IDE?
            I have the following:
            Serial
            Keyboard + Mouse + Joystick
Serial Keyboard + Mouse + Joystick <- one I am using
            Disk internal + keyboard
            Disk (SD) + keyboard
            MIDI
            Raw HID
            Flight controller

            Thanks again

Sorry I am a utter douche.
Recently broke my right arm so i cant solder or play games.

I could be wrong but the quickest fix is to make the teensy act as a keyboard gamepad hybrid
Making use of the dirrectional keys ect... for use in menu's.

i have only seen this work with a gamepad once... and i have no idea how i enabled it.

Been trying to see if google can spot the answer.
But i'm guessing one of the more skilled guys is about to melt my face as i am sure they also apply buttons to the script menu's in the recent update.

              I could be wrong.

              Again sorry for my attitude.
              And best of luck buddy.

I have tried these different profiles however they do not seem to do anything, I cannot even get to the emulation station config screen.
                  Any help would be awesome!
