Certain Dosbox games freezing/ running slow

Trying to run Leisure Suit Larry 7 and Kings Quest 7 on the Retropie but lots of issues with sound cutting out, game running slow or freezing... Worried these issues may pop up on other games I play. Any tips for making these games run smoother would be greatly appreciated

@suko i run my games at 640x480 256 colors. Those are the most important settings to run as smoothly as possible. I can test both of those games to see how they run for me.

@suko most games have a setup.exe or install.exe that has the options if not in the games options.
