What would you like to see in future Retropie releases

I would love to see a delete function built into retropie gui. I was given a folder with 5000 mame/arcade games in it. It contains doubles and games that dont work. It is very hard to identify that exact rom from inside the folder, as the way mame roms must be titled in a very spacific way(i.e. mame.zip) and can not be changed. So yea, a way to remove a rom from within retropie. Thank you! I love what you guys have done!

@cubanrudeboy108 You can delete a rom by hitting SELECT, Edit metadata and delete at the bottom of the list of values.

@hurricanefan oh! Sweet! Thank you

Playstation controller icons would be sweet to have on the EmulationStation. Or better yet, some customization features on those as well, arcade cabinet owners especially would like that.

My Personal 3:
Background Music Through Emulation Station Settings so it would turn off automatically when videos play/screensaver starts.
Copy/Paste in the Metadata fields
On-Screen Keyboard when you only have a controller.I know they might never happen, but I had to throw them out there. ;)
Same for me.. music and virtual keyboard (Batocera style) please!

Hi, I would like to see an inbuilt option to run games on SD CARD and on USB STICK at the same time.
- SD card with RETROPIE Image and gb/gbc/gba/nes/snes/n64
- USB STICK with NEO GEO and PSX
I don't want to manually mount the USB STICK and I don't want to copy ROMS from USB STICK to SD CARD or vice versa.

@waimea You can do this using symbolic links for your CD based systems.
I wrote up a guide on it on another site that I can't link here because of roms. Maybe if I get time next week I'll re-write it for this site. (Or somebody might already have instructions here and post them by then).
You should learn how to use them man. You can do a ton of cool stuff with them.

A feature I'm still missing from ES is the ability to hide certain files. Like in arcade gamelists, the ability to hide bios roms or certain double disk games elsewhere just to not clutter up gamelists.

@used2berx Please do write a guide or paste the guide you have written on this forum.

@waimea Sure thing man. It's officially on my to-do list right now. I apologize that I can't get to it immediately, but I'm in the middle of something that's taking up all of my attention right now and I have some RL stuff to take care of this week. I hope to get it up here by the weekend.
I'll just let you know that with them I've been able to plug in a couple of test USB drives with some CDs on them and they loaded flawlessly for me. It's kind of like the old days where you put a cart in the console and fired it up. :)
Another use I've found for it is with the gamelist.xml files. I've been working with @meleu on a script to generate these XML files and update them as I gather more information and artwork and other extras. Rather than have to move the files it makes into each file individually per system (which takes a LOT of time and folder navigating), I put symbolic links in place of these documents that all point to the documents this script generates in the same folder. This means that whenever I update the files with the script all I have to do is reboot the Pi and it immediately displays all of the new information.
Trust me man. This feature is great. I've been a Windows guy all of my life but between the fact you don't need drivers for devices and the symbolic link feature I'm doing what I can to learn Linux and finally make the switch from the Dark Side. :)

I'd like better audio management. Emulation station takes over audio completely and nothing else can grab it. I'd like the ability to run audio along side emulation station.

@waimea Here you go man...
https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/13331/symbolic-links-and-external-storage-potential
I didn't write up a huge guide on it like I thought I had, but this should be enough to get you started. I'll update it some day when I get back to doing work with CD based systems.
Let me know in that thread if you have any questions.
