Xbox One PowerA controller not working?

i recently got a retropie and i have a PowerA spectra illuminated controller fro xbox one and windows.(also its wired) it worked instantly on the xbox one and works with the default drivers for windows but on retropie it detects as a game pad but doesn't detect any button press so i cant use it on the menu or in game does anybody know how to fix this or if it can be fixed?

also yes i have installed the xbox controller drivers and xpad

I'm having the same issue with the USB PowerA wired controller. The controller connects and the white light in the middle lights up but no button function.

That's odd, I have two PowerA wired Xbox one controllers that i got from Argos and they just worked.
Maybe it could be a power issue? You haven't given much detail of your setup, could you fill out the form from the read this first link?
I am of course assuming that you are at the configure controllers screen where it isn't accepting input. The controller won't work until you've configured it as an input device.

I have a wire and wireless powerA controllor, Most of the buttons won't work when setting up the controller to Retropie, I have it on Raspberry Pi 4 -
