Black screen on first boot
-
so, i just bought a raspberry pi 3b, downloaded the retropie img, put it on my micro sd using win32diskimager, and put it into my raspberry pi. However, once i power the thing on, theres no image on my screen. So i looked online for possible solutions, and found a couple. Changing some lines in the config.txt file didnt help, so i looked whether i had a sd card, which isnt supported by the raspberry pi. After checking on http://elinux.org/RPi_SD_cards , i found out that my sd card isnt supported, so i went out and bought a different one. however, once i came back with the new sd card, it still didnt work, i tried everything, different config files, different monitors, different hdmi cables, but nothing worked. When i plugged it into my tv, it showed up as raspberry being plugged in, but the screen still remained black. Also, i do have a 2A power supply, since people in other threads pointing to lower ones being a cause. any hekp would be much appreciated

@janik1501 Just a thought, is the SD card plugged in correctly? On the RPi, the label on the card should be facing down when plugged in and should latch unto the connector. Otherwise you might have a bad RPi.

Does any other install of something work? Try noobs - https://www.raspberrypi.org/downloads/noobs/

You did extract it? You used the correct image?
Also, i do have a 2A power supply
You really need 2.5A - https://www.raspberrypi.org/help/faqs/#powerReqs
Please post the information requetsed in here: https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/3/read-this-first in full and describe how you went about setting it up - did you follow this exactly?
What are the LED indicators on the pi telling you about the boot? Is it booting?
Changing some lines in the config.txt file didnt help
How did you edit? did you save the changes?

@janik1501 please read my post in full again with reference to power and all the other details needed to make support possible. What image did you use? the exact name? and everything else requested.

This means that you are incorrectly setting up your card, your card is not compatible or your card is corrupt.
