I desoldered the USB ports on my Pi 3 and am trying to configure Retropie to run controls via the GPIO. The issue is SSH is not enabled by default anymore and the only way to gain control of my Pi 3 is via SSH but following the guide here > https://www.raspberrypi.org/blog/a-security-update-for-raspbian-pixel/ Is just not working and Im completely stumped. I really wish they hadn't disabled SSH by default on new versions of Retropie.

Nevermind I solved it by formatting the SD and using a fresh image of Retropie. Apparently that solved the issue. Also when I created the file on the root of the SD card in windows I typed random text in it and saved it. They said it only had to be named SSH but perhaps typing something in worked. Im not sure.
