Advance Wars. Dope. More advance wars please. Particularly of the title screen for the first Advance Wars on Gameboy Advance. I think that would work well.
-
@mrjordaaany Yeah I cheated, in reality it's a screensaver for the second Advance Wars, sadly I can't find any artwork of the first Advance Wars in good quality!
-

- Added Metroid 2: Return of Samus screensaver.
- Added Metroid Fusion screensaver.
- Added Super Smash Bros. screensaver.

Noticed that the file sizes are a bit on the large side. Have you tried out Handbrake, by chance? Really helps with compressing video without losing much quality.
-
@supercatfooz I'm using Adobe Media Encoder CC in H264, I thought it couldn't be lighter than it is (I tried 720p but its kinda the same) I will try Handbrake when I can, but does it really reduce that much?
-
@malixx From my experience, yes. Haven't tried it with your clips yet, though.
Edit: Tried it with your Smash Bros. wallpaper. Default settings compressed it from 37MB to just 7.
-
Hmm. When I was downloading from YouTube at 1080p, they were only around 3-4mb.
-
@hyruleslink That's because YouTube uploads aren't lossless. YouTube videos get compressed quite a bit for the sake of storing more videos on their servers without having to buy tons of new ones.
-
@supercatfooz Not bad! Thank you, I didn't had the time to try it out, I hope the quality is still good.
-
@hyruleslink Finally I will keep uploading them on YouTube and eventually in the future I will make the files smaller anyway :)
-
Sorry Malixx, your previous 1080p videos was on 13mb side. There's a chance to back to that size? New videos are almost 4x bigger.
-
@darishzone I will do as soon as I find the right settings on Media Encoder CC (if anyone can help btw, I'm taking any advice!), using Handbrake like suggested @SuperCatFooz makes the task tedious for me due to the multiple renders I must do :(

Thank you! With your tutorial i managed to get videos working, so they play random when screensaver is activated, it is so great but my PI3B is stressed, menu became clunky and unresponsive. I'm afraid the video size is too big. I will also check if 720p videos could improve performance.
-
@darishzone I have made some tweaks and I can go down to 6,95 Mo and the quality is not that bad, maybe I will stick to it.

Seems good man. Meanwhile i've tried YT videos, downloaded via jdownloader at 1080p, size is around 10mb each, some quality loss but acceptable. But the set lacks your latest works.
Seems a LOT better with 10mb videos.
-
@darishzone Can you post the details of the video files you end up with? (Right click > Proprieties > Details > Video > Bitrates, Framerate...) Maybe I can reproduce your process without the download from YT, or should I stick with the 6.95 Mo like in my previous post?
