trying to get turbografx cd roms working. Any help?
-
Hey guys, so I've almost got my build done just how I want it but for the life of me I cant get certain roms working. I have read all the posts about similar issues with the pc engine/turbo cd roms in the forum but to no avail. Ive checked that the bin and cue files are all named properly and also changed Bios files a few times and checked the checksums of them. Everything looks fine but only like one third are working, the ones that arent load and get to the push run screen then when I push run it just stays on the please wait a moment screen, it doesnt kick me back to ES it just hangs there. Is there something Ive missed cause I'd really like to get the others working. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

@sylence26 you need the syscard3.pce (all lowercase) bios in the BIOS folder in /home/pi/RetroPie/

Oh Ive already got that and also tried putting another in the roms file with the roms. Like I saisd I have tried everything that I've read on the forums with no luck. -

No, the bios is in the proper folder. I sent it through with winSCP, and checked the bios's checksum and it is good. And it isnt a corrupted bios also. -
@sylence26 open up the cue files and make sure the name of the bin file is listed exactly like the bin file is. If the bin file is called say Altered Beast.BIN inside the .cue file it cant be named things like altered beast .bin or Altered Beast.bin as they arent identical

@sylence26 i deleted. I just realized that. Read my last post

No , Ive triple checked all the bin and cue files in all the roms and they match exactly. Been trying to get this sorted all week but now I want to smash my head on a rock. lol -
@sylence26 did you open up the .cue files and read how they were named inside them? That is usually the reason why some work and some dont.
-
@edmaul69
Yup, opened all the cue files and checked them. All match and still no dice. Thought maybe I had a bad bios but it is fine. thats whats got me confused about this. -
@sylence26 also inside the cue file it cant say something like "c:\ tg16\Altered Beast.BIN"

@edmaul69
Heres a copy of the bin and cue for a game thats not working..Addams Family [U][CD][TGXCD1019][ICOM Simulations][1991][PCE][rigg].bin
and the cue file..
Addams Family [U][CD][TGXCD1019][ICOM Simulations][1991][PCE][rigg].cueFILE "Addams Family [U][CD][TGXCD1019][ICOM Simulations][1991][PCE][rigg].BIN" BINARY
TRACK 01 MODE1/2352

@sylence26 as i said thats your problem. Inside the cue file it says .BIN but the bin file is .bin. Correct it in the cue file

@edmaul69
Wow, I cant believe I didnt catch that stupid error. I was looking so hard at the file name I totally overlooked the damn file association. Thanks alot dude, but it does help to have another set of eyes looking at a problem. -
@sylence26 yeah i am not sure why but so many tg16 and seca cd cue files list .BIN . Windows doesnt care but linux does. It is stupid that whatever program people ripped them with did this. Happy gaming dude.
-
@edmaul69
Yup, checked and all the none working ones had BIN for file extension. Stupid error on my part. Fixed them and am reloading them now. Thanks again, you da man. -
@sylence26 hey man, how did you open up the cue or bin file to rename it from BIN to .bin? I'm having the same issue it sounds like :/

@chadicus what operating system do you have? In windows you can just open them in notepad.
