Issues getting pcengine games to start (non CD)

So when I go to start any PCE game, it goes to a gray screen and it just stays there. I can hit certain buttons on the controller and sometimes on the bottom left it will say that I am enabling or disabling the Turbo for a Specific button. But that's it. These are basic card Roms and not CDs. I even put the syscard3.pce bios in there. Although I hear that is just for using CD based games.

I am hoping that I just missed something.

@xtoddh which emulator? Try both the supergrafx and pce emulators. I agree with @jonnykesh it is most likely bad roms.
