        Just dont use the built in scraper, its flawed. Use @muldjord Skyscraper or @sselph scraper or @screech UXS scraper for windows.

        Skyscraper has no gui yet, but if you know your way around its awesome. My favorite but atm cli only.
        Sselphs scraper has a gui (without all options though) and is included in RetroPie-Setup.
        UXS has a windows gui. This is the most easy to use. Works over network, so you dont have to touch your sd card.

          @mydriaze If you are determined to use the built in scraper then search for the exact full name of the game as it appears on thegamesdb. Sometimes this is the only way to find the match.

            I found that the built in ES scraper couldn't handle anything with a word of 3 characters or less in the name (none of the WWF games would scrape, nor Double Dragon III). I just use sselph's scraper now.

              Thanks all for your replies. So, I guess there's some bug in the official scraper.
              I now use UXS scraper like you recommand me. Thanks for this!

                I find it best to set the optional scraper to keep games displayed by the filename.

                That makes things MUCH easier for spotting cases where it detected the ROM wrong, and loaded the wrong info... Which granted happens a LOT less frequently with the optional scraper than the built-in one.

                  Nope! Even if you type exactly the same name, it doesn't match. See the examples I quote on the first post. No matches at all.

                    I can get Gadget Twins to show up through the built-in scraper no problem.

                    Note, I've used the /opt/retropie/configs/all/platforms.cfg file to change Mega Drive to Genesis; which, according to the wiki, also changes which platform is searched with the scraper. Perhaps you can just add a mega drive version to thegamesdb.net to get it to show up if you don't want to change your system's platform to genesis.

                    *edit- Formula One also shows up no problem, but I can't get Double-Dragon to show.

                    *edit2- Use Double Dragon III: The Arcade Game EXACTLY, and it'll show up with the built-in scraper.

                    The optional scraper is what I used to scrape my system though, and it found 100% of my 685 Genesis games.

                      @edale So, I guess it's an error between Megadrive and Genesis version, cause my roms are in the Megadrive rom folder. I will upload thegamedb website to fix it. Thanks for taking your tiume to find a solution for me. I really appreciate your help.

                        @mydriaze Oh, the games still go in the megadrive folder, the platform.cfg file just changes the display and scrapping settings.

                        Oh, this is the txt you'd need in the platform.cfg file if you create it:

                        megadrive_theme="genesis"
                        megadrive_platform="genesis"
                        pcengine_theme="tg16"
                        pcengine_platform="tg16"

                        Then after creating that file and putting it in /opt/retropie/configs/all/ you need to update the TG and genesis cores, and you're good to go.
