USB HUB not working
-
I have this hootoo 7-Port USB3.0 Hub that my raspberry pi zero w will not recognize. anything I can do about it or is it simple not compatible?
-
@worcesterthecat that probably requires more power than the pi zero can output. You really need a usb 2.0. Even then no guarantees that the pi can handle it. You also can try a 5v power supply with more amps. How many amps is your power supply outputting?

I'm confused if your asking about the power of my charger for the pi or the hub.
for the pi ive been trying different things but right now I'm using my phones adapter: "output: 9.0v-1.67a or
5.0v-2.0A" its a samsung adapter with fast charging.Reading the bottom of the hub: "model number HT-UH010
INPUT:DC12W/5A
OUTPUT: 5V/1A, 5V/2.1A"doesn't mean much to me

@worcesterthecat do not hook a 9v supply to either the hub or the pi. They are 5v. You should use a power supply made for the pi as apposed to a fast charging power supply.

@edmaul69 it says 9 or 5.... i dont get it. its for my samsung 7. I just found another charger. i think its 5v 2a. it an actual wall charger that gos to a bluetooth credit card reader.
maybe i should just order an actual pi charger cuz i really dont understand. i read once article that said you can use your TV's usb plug

Sounds like you need to go to more reputable sites.
Chargers do not equal power supplies.

Ok so what specs would qualify for a good power supply? I have SO many

@worcesterthecat 5v 2.5a not usb, not phone charger, not cheapo pile of junk power supply. Look up raspberry pi power supply
