      Hi,

      I have a problem setting up retropie. The first boot goes well, it says resizing root parition then it reboots.

      And there is the problem, when it reboots there is no output to the screen, the green light on the pi is just stuck on permanently and it stays like that permanently. I've tried writing the image to the sd card in windows and linux and the result is the same.

      If I power cycle the pi it boots to a command prompt and there is some minor corruption on the sd card, in fact every time the fstab file is corrupted.

      I'm installing version 4.3 of retropie and the sd card is a kingston 64GB class 10 card.

      Any ideas?

      Cheers

        @stryker Either the SD card is damaged or you've downloaded the wrong image - what PI model are you using ?

          I'm using a pi3 and downloaded the pi 2/3 image... in fact I downloaded it for a second time in case there was an issue but the result was the same. So there are no known issues with kingston sd cards and the pi?

            @stryker said in setup fails:

            So there are no known issues with kingston sd cards and the pi?

            Not specifically, but there are cases of fake/knock-off sd cards which lie about their capacity and then problems creep up later when using the system.

            Try to get a sd card testing program - like H2testw- just to make sure it's not the card.

              Interesting development, I just wrote a romflix image to the card and its worked fine.... I may try acquiring another sd card and give it another try as I do want retropie
