I've got an issue where the built-in lr-fuse just resets the spectrum instead of loading almost any game, occasionally one will work but most just give reset it.

I would like to install the up to date Fuse or FBZX , but I have absolutely no understanding of the inner workings of RetroPie or the OS at all, so basically I'm totally stuck. I've tried searching for a dummies-guide with no luck so far.

My Retropie boots straight into the RetroPie front end, I'm not even sure how to get into any config screens for the OS or whatever that may exist. The only videos I've found seem to assume a level of understanding of Linux or whatever that I just don't have.

Is there a guide to doing that for people like myself with absolutely no clue how to go about adding a new emulator, or can anyone explain it in (really!) simple terms?

      thanks in advance
      James

@jamesk How about starting with https://retropie.org.uk/docs/First-Installation/ ? It shows you how to install additional emulators and how to access the RetroPie setup screen.

Thanks, thats the page I worked through to set it up in the first place. I used the pre-made RetroPie package on an SD card for the setup.

The thing now is that it boots straight into EmulationStation and the scrolling list of emulators - the instructions say "Software can be installed from the RetroPie-Setup script - which is accessible from the RetroPie menu on EmulationStation" - but I can't find any menu options in there apart from configuring the controllers?

@jamesk Don't you have a 'RetroPie' system in Emulation Stations - similar to the other emulators - like

            in the video linked.

Ah of course!!! Thanks! I'd not used it for a few months until I turned it on today, I'd totally forgotten there is a slot for RetroPie itself. Doh.

I don't have it turned on at the moment but I'll try that later - can I install the latest Fuse from within that menu? Also, can I install Unreal_Speccy from in there also?

@jamesk there is no unreal speccy for the RPI. Fuse is in optional packages.
