Some filter presets don't load on x86

Using Retropie x86 on Ubuntu 16.04 and a converted Chromebox (so using Intel graphics)
Playing around with some of the many, many filters presets that come with Retroarch on the x86 version of retropie, and a lot of the shader presets don't seem to load anything. Downloaded the "Analog Filter Pack" off of the retropie forums and those don't seem to do anything either. Is the x86 version of retropie missing some shaders that the presets expect or something?

To be a bit more clear: when selecting a non-working preset retroarch just dumps me back to the filter selection screen without making any changes.
