      Hey.
      I just bought shanwan controller and a bluetooth dongle.
      I installed ps3 drivers in retropie-setup with 4 option (that's shanwan clone support).
      After i plug my controller through usb leds keep blinking.
      After i unplug it and press P3 button nothing happens
      Also after some time only third player led is blinking
      I can provide more info if needed. Anyone has similar problem? How did you fix it?
      I tried the controller with my phone and it works without problems so i'm wondering is this dongle problem or pi?
      I'm using Cambridge Silicon Radio, Ltd Bluetooth Dongle (HCI mode) and ShanWan controller CECHZC2U

        Are you using a pi2 and what version of retropie?

        have you tired using different drivers. Try using a non shanwan driver. IF still a NO Go try removing the driver and then leave the BT dongle out and try to reinstall the shanwan driver. After the install completes connect the BT dongle and then the usb cord to the controller.

            So it was bluetooth dongle fault. I bought a new one and it works perfectly!

                Similar issues to what is described here except with pi3 and v3.6. I'm using a real PS3 controller but can't connect via cable or bluetooth.

                I have tried the following process several times with the same outcome:

                1. Fresh v3.6 image
                2. Initial boot into ES -> configure keyboard
                3. Start button to open Configure menu and Add A Controller
                4. Plug usb into PSX3 controller , hold ps3 button, controller is seen, and i get dropped into the button config screen.
                  == Here is where I get stuck==
                  I have never been able to configure the full controller, it seems only certain buttons work, just overall can't go through the config like you would with any other controller. I really don't know what else to try. Certain buttons work, some don't. Can't navigate back and forth to fix missing or incorrect buttons. It almost looks like something gets stuck... I've seen it "spring" forward past 10 or so lines and then get stuck again. I've also clicked OK from this screen and have gotten dropped at the command prompt with a "segmentation fault" error message in the terminal window. All the time the controller is flashing a 4 leds....

                Overall I'm about to give up on PSX

                If anyone has any tips I'd greatly appreciate it, cheers!

                  @mrmartin79 I am also having the same issues. I eventually purchased a bluetooth dongle and got my PS3 controller to connect.

                  I had to map the controller numerous times 6+ when it was connected via usb, eventually patience paid off.

                  I'm running v3.6 image.

                  Has anyone got the RPi3 to pair with a PS3 controller without a dongle? If so how did you do it.

                    So, I just installed 3.7 (new today) and it connected perfectly 1st time with the cable. I have not tried bluetooth yet but perhaps tomorrow... time to play some games.

                      @mrmartin79

                      I am pleased to announce I managed to get the RPi3 to pair with the PS3 controller. Only thing I had to do was update the RetroPie Script to v3.7, reboot, plug in the PS3 controller with a USB, disconnect the PS3 and then press the home button. I never even bothered to go into the pair menu or anything.

                      I paired 3 PS3 controllers with the builtin bluetooth.
