Help me please, I am stuck in command line screen and cannot type
-
Hello there, I'm using version pi model 3 and am using version 4.1 of retropie, what happened was I created a new folder called DOS (not knowing that the proper one was pc) in the roms folder in Home/Pi/roms and put a file called "esa" and "esd" (standing for elder scrolls arena and elder scrolls daggerfall), I also then put those roms in the pc folder, so then I rebooted it later and after it rebooted it
did everything normally then was about to load up emulation station but right before it did it got stuck in the command line screen, at the top a lot of weird errors but at the end it said as follows ''Permission denied: "/home/pi/RetroPie/roms/pc/ESD/DAGGER/SAVE2'' which is obviously the rom i added in the pc folder, and after reading all of that i thought to myself that i should obviously try to get back into emulation station something so i plugged in my keyboard and tried typing to get back into emulation station but i could not type, Can ANYONE help me please? -
I also tried taking the micro sd card out and tried deleting "esa", "esd", (both the ones in the dos folder and the pc folder), I tried deleting the dos folder I created in Home/pi/roms but none of them would delete, in fact, nothing would delete so yeah...

@djpj3000 @djpj3000 when you boot the pi just repeatedly press f4 on a keyboard until it kicks you to the commandline. If you are lucky you will get into commandline before the error kicks in and then you can type. use sudo before your commands. I assume somehow you added this stuff as root and not the user “pi”.

@edmaul69 still same result sadly...

I discovered that the Magic SysRq key
Ctrl + Alt + PrtScr + r
frees the keyboard after such errors. I don't know if it's a "good" way in technical terms, though. :)
