Are quicksaves game linked?

i mean, let's say i'm playing game X and then i do a quick save on slot 1. Then i start playing game Y and do a quick save on slot 1. Will this last one be the quicksave#1 of game Y and quicksave#1 of game X will still exist, or it will overwrite Game's X quick save?

Savestates files are named after the rom (and slot), so they can't overwrite.
You will have 2 files : X.state and Y.state (or X.state1, X.state2, ... depending on the slot used for that rom).
