      New to this and not very computer literate. When running win32 I get a volume code 5 error. Not sure what I need to turn off or on to fix this problem any thought would be great.

        Ensure your SD card is inserted and that the drive letter in Win32DiskImager is correct. If it is and you still get the error then try SDFormatter, which can be found with a simple search. SDFormatter has help numerous times for me. If no joy your SD card may be bad.

          So you run the sd formatter then win32 ?

            Yes, SDFormatter does what the name implies and blanks the SD card. If the card is not defective, this has a good chance of fixing your problem. After using SDFormatter, then flash your image using Win32DiskImager.

              I tried that, still get the code. Would be with anything with retro pie download? I download it to the desk top open with internet explore, would you have to do anything else?

                @3boysandagirl Follow the instructions and extract it, since it's a compressed image. From the .gz file you downloaded, use 7-zip to extract it, then write the .img file to the SD card with Win32Disk imager.
                Can you post a screenshot with the error ?

                  When I open win32 does it matter after file name it will only find the retro file in the ** drop down not the img.
