I think we need a special wiki page for kid-proofing RetroPie, now that Kid mode is implemented in Emulationstation.

@mitu I agree mitu. Just to help people with some situations like this. I had previously enabled kiosk mode and removed the retropie config page from emulationstation before asking for the help on removing those binding buttons. It would help a lot of people who want to stop kids accessing areas that we don't want them to. Glad I've made this build child proof and it helps to know for future.

@cmac86 I think the problem is, as it always is with open source software. Coders / developers like to make stuff work but HATE writing the documentation. It always seems to be an afterthought. Just one of those things.
The wiki can be edited by anyone btw... If you have a spare few hours... It always seems to take longer to explain how something works rather than just making it work.

                        For updated info purposes.
When you search in google "how to disable retroarch menu hotkey", this thread is the first thing that comes up.

                        As for 19 Jun 2019

All of the above didn't work for me.

But this is the solution now:
                        sudo nano /opt/retropie/configs/all/retroarch.cfg

                        search for menu_driver

The default value should be "rgui". Change that to "null" Null, with two L.

                        Save and restart emulationstation.
