Help with Roms

Is there anybody northwest/Manchester area willing to help me get my retropie setup. I’ve installed retropie no problem and put some roms on but only the odd one works and don’t understand why and I’m not very computer savvy 😒
My plan was to build a arcade cabinate for it -
