Chicuelo Theme

@movisman
Before make the PR update the repo because I just added wonder swan color! -
Hi,
Yep, I freshly updated from your master this evening before making the changes.
I have raised a PR now, as follows:
theme.xml
Updates to controller sizes and positionControllers
Update all controllers to set canvas size for scaling purposesReadme
Quick update and tidy up, add in new blistersHope you don't mind me tidying up the readme a little bit, I didn't change much just some corrections and additions here and there. Apologies there are three commits for it, I realised it needed further edits each time I committed to my fork. I assume you can merge all the commits into a single one anyway for all my changes.
When complete, i'll update my main version from RetroPie Setup and test all is working ok!
Thanks a lot for your work on rescaling and reworking the controllers to my preferred size.
Cheers

Ooooh! Ha I raised the PR pretty much at exactly the same time as you wrote this.
Hope this does not cause issue for you. It should still be fine if you merge in my changes as your updates are all new files so no conflicts.
Once you have merged my changes in (including my readme edits), you could then update the readme to add WonderSwan as supported.
-
BTW, I noticed there is a standard (non color) Wonderswan theme.xml and Logo already in place, but no controller or background. I have added this to the 'coming soon' on the readme and updated my PR, or is full support for WonderSwan not planned? At the same time I have added WonderSwan Color to the readme as fully supported now. At the same time I finished reordering all the systems so they are in alphabetical order.
Thanks!
-
@movisman
Great I will merge now.
As wonder swan monochrome there are a lot of system without the character and controller like colecovision, vectrex, neogeopocket ande NGP color , those will be updated soon! we already have the xml and the logo but it remains the character and controller! -
No worries! Well I updated the readme so all the system info is nice and up to date now, I also added WonderSwan to coming soon and WonderSwan color into the fully supported system list.
Hope ok.
Thanks!

@movisman
Done the PR! and thanks for upgrading my gramar! I not very good at English :)
Next step is completing the missing system list!Thank you very much!
-
No worries at all! I hope you didn't mind me tweaking the Readme file to tidy some things up and rearrange the systems. Your English is actually very, very good btw!!!
I will make some further adjustments to the readme a bit later - just did some quicker bits for now. I think we can expand on some of the 'features' as well to let people know about the blisters, screenshot and video support and other things like that.
I updated my main theme from RetroPie-Setup, and all works perfectly! Great stuff :)

-
Excellent! I was going to mention that, certainly would be worth doing once those are completed.
Cheers!
-
@chicuelo Thanks but don't wait on me :) as I said, I'm not sure when I will do them, if I ever do.
Right now I'm working on an arcade rom manager. -
@cosmo0
Great! I will upload your genre shots so the user can see those categories! -
Wow. This is by far my favourite theme. Once you add the rest of the systems like the Nintendo DS and the like, I'll give it an A+. It also would be need in the video game selection if instead of the console information, it'll show the game text/description.
-
Just raised another minor PR:
-
Added custom collection theme.xml (required for when user creates a custom collection not based on an existing system/theme). Needs background and new logo creating though (used default carbon one for now and changed to white, as I don't have the original fonts/svg you used to create the others). Maybe you can knock a background up quickly like you did for the other collections? (last played, etc) and maybe change the logo to match them.
-
Some very minor positioning changes to main theme.xml
-
Some wording adjustments to the "all games", "last played", and "favorites" collections to fatten out the text a bit to make it look better.
Hope ok to merge.
Cheers

Hey,
I also went through the RetroPie wiki (looking at documented systems on the right) as well as some other themes to pick out all the main systems which are remaining, just in case it helps get an idea of what remains.
I'm not sure if you plan to support some of the more obscure systems - dunno if it is worth spending the time on them or not.
However I listed them all below, starting with the systems I think are probably the most important to add in first (must haves):
- colecovision (Colecovision console)
- vectrex (Vectrex game console)
- sg-1000 (SEGA SG-1000 game console)
- videopac/odyssey2 (Videopac/Odyssey2 game console)
- ngp (Neo Geo Portable handheld console)
- ngpc (Neo Geo Portable Color handheld console)
- wonderswan (Bandai WonderSwan mono handheld console)
- intellivision (Intellivision console)
- nds (Nintendo DS handheld console)
- wii (Nintendo Wii console)
- ps2 (Sony Playstation 2 console)
- pcfx (PC-FX NEC game console)
- msx (MSX home computer)
and the "non system" themes:
- kodi (by default this isn't a system, it goes into 'ports' unless you edit es_systems.cfg manually. So up to you if you want to make a system for it or not - as it's not default behaviour for RetroPie)
- custom collections (i created this but needs a new logo+background)
And then these are maybe less important but they are still on the wiki - not sure which ones you plan to support from these, dunno if you were planning to do every single system or just the ones you feel are the most common. A few of the below machines I had never even heard of. This is subjective of course!!
- macintosh (Apple Macintosh personal computer)
- dragon32 (Dragon 32/64 home computer)
- x68000 (Sharp x68000 machine)
- coco (Tandy Colour Computer)
- oric (Oric home computer)
- pc88 (PC 8800 computer series)
- samcoupe (Sam Coupe home computer)
- ti99 (Texas Instruments TI-99/4A home computer)
- trs-80 (Tandy TRS-80 home computer)
- mess (MESS hardware emulator)
- zmachine (Infocom Z-Machine emulator for adventure games)
Regarding the 'variations' you see on some themes (eg. some people want to have TurboGrafx-16 instead of PC Engine), I don't know if you plan to support them, but I can list them if needed. We would need new logos and sometimes new controllers to support these, so maybe it's best to just have the 'default' system for now and look at variations later? I guess it's not huge work to do all the variations, as you can use the same character bg, and sometimes, the same controller.
Hope this info helps.
If you think my list above is about right, I can add the first bit to the readme as 'coming soon'.
Thanks!

@movisman as far as I know Kodi is placed in Ports by default but there is a way to make it show up as separate system. Of course you basically can turn almost everything into a separate system but for Kodi it makes kinda sense because it's not gaming related.
I also have seen some multi boot setups, that had custom scripts to reboot into Kodi (or Raspbian) which were separated from the Ports system. -
Yes, I think you might be right. I actually meant to put in brackets something like "could this go into ports", basically to save on @chicuelo having to make extra artwork. I will edit the post now.
I just checked here:
https://github.com/RetroPie/RetroPie-Setup/wiki/KODIAnd you are correct, you have to add a system manually for KODI to show up separately.
As it requires specific coding overrides to make it show up as a system, I guess it's up to @chicuelo if he wants to make a system for it or not. As it's not a default thing I guess it is not a priority?

This theme is awesome! Great job on it!
The following are commonly used with RetroPie. It would be nice if they were added to this theme:colecovision
vectrex
sg-1000
ngp
ngpc
wonderswan
intellivision
nds
msx
msx2
supergrafx
kodi
sfc
famicom -
Yep, I believe all of those systems you mention are in my list a couple of posts up as ones I suggest to be added first to complete the theme. SFC, SuperGrafx and Famicom are all variations of systems that are already supported. It's up to @chicuelo whether he wants to add those in at some point. They would need new logos and some would also require new controllers to be created.

Hi!
So I have spent some time manipulating/putting together logos and making theme.xml files (including details + description) for some of the systems I mentioned in a previous post above, hope this is ok! I have pushed to my master which automagically has updated my outstanding PR to get these added in.
I know these systems do not have artwork/controllers yet, but at least it means people running them will get a logo and description which is good. Obviously then you can pick and choose which systems you decide to create a background and controller for (in case you do not plan to support some of the more obscure ones). Maybe systems you decide to not support (in terms of custom artwork), maybe it's worthwhile to come up with a placeholder or generic background for these instead of a blank image? Unless you plan to do them all eventually of course!! :)
I noticed some systems already have logo+theme but no bg/controller (like intellivision, etc), I know these are coming soon - so I just filled in the blanks. I haven't made logos/descriptions for any of the system 'variations' or non-defaults yet.
The logos I made are fine I think, but obviously feel free to improve some of them further if you think it's necessary.
Here are the systems I added logos and a theme.xml for (with all details and a description for each):
sg-1000 (SEGA SG-1000 game console)
videopac (Videopac game console)
nds (Nintendo DS handheld console)
wii (Nintendo Wii console)
ps2 (Sony Playstation 2 console)
pcfx (PC-FX NEC game console)
msx (MSX home computer)
macintosh (Apple Macintosh personal computer)
dragon32 (Dragon 32/64 home computer)
x68000 (Sharp x68000 machine)
coco (Tandy Colour Computer)
oric (Oric home computer)
pc88 (PC 8800 computer series)
samcoupe (Sam Coupe home computer)
ti99 (Texas Instruments TI-99/4A home computer)
trs-80 (Tandy TRS-80 home computer)
mess (MESS hardware emulator)
zmachine (Infocom Z-Machine emulator for adventure games)Hope this helps!
Cheers
