Hi Guys. Is there a way of building a theme on my desktop rather than having to keep taking the SD card out of the Raspberry??? I have been using a desktop version of Emulation Station but it doesn't seem to work. I have tried downloading themes off here and adding them to the program but it still doesn't work. Only seems to work with the themes already on the program. Its a nightmare when trying to build a theme as the editing never works.

I was using the ES Toolkit: https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/9340/emulationstation-toolkit-theme-making-helper-update
And dumped the files from the Latest Windows Build into that folder, replacing the old files. https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/9094/updated-emulationstation-for-windows

@lugzyboy82 You are using Windows right? If yes, does the command window pop up and shows any errors?

Also I can't remember if I ever used the bat files from the toolkit. Mine looks like this:

            set HOME=%~dp0
            emulationstation.exe --windowed --debug --resolution 1280 720

You can adjust the resolution to whatever you want, and you can also remove --debug but it can help while creating a theme just because of the error outputs.

@ectoone Hello again sir. No I don't get any screens. It tries to do something but soon as the box appears it disappears again instantly. I don't have an .exe anywhere. So frustrating.

@lugzyboy82 the exe file should be in the emulationstation subfolder after you extract the es_tookit archive. The same folder where all of the batch files are located

@ectoone I'm certain it wasn't but I will double check and let you know.
