Brutal Doom 64
-
Wondering if it's possible to setup brutal doom 64 on retropie? I seen a thread elsewhere a while back and someone had said they had done it but can't find it anywhere again. Would love to this on retropie as doom 64 is my favourite doom.

You'd need to get either GZDoom, or Zandronum running on the Pi. An admittedly quick search seems to indicate that neither are currently possible.

yea it would look like butt with software rendering (doom64's aesthetic being reliant on colored lighting)
There IS an official gzdoom.deb package for the pi/arm, but i think it needs Ubuntu rather than Raspbian. It installed in pixel desktop, but threw two errors relating to "libstdc++.so.6" when trying to run it. -
@vort3x54 @mediamogul im not sure the differences but i have brutal doom running in zdoom.

No differences at all apparently. The website from your screenshot corresponds with the project page. The page itself only lists GZDoom and Zandronum that I can see. Good to see that ZDoom is up to the task.

I remember trying some .pk3 gzdoom mods with Doom 2 and if they have some transparency / smoke effects they would display pretty bad in ZDoom and will get some slowdown on Pi3 :/

@mahcneto winters fury is the one i have thats is completely unplayable. I went through a lot just to get through the first level but the second is completely unplayable. Soo much lag and you cant see 2 feet in front of you. Shame really cause it looks really good on the videos and the first level was cool aside from all the issues
