So, I re formatted the usb drive that I had originally used after installing retropie.

Now, I do the same method of putting fresh retropie folder on usb fat 32 formatted, and it won't copy the starting folders this time.

And in file manager, all my roms from previous are still on retropie. I do not want to run roms on my sd. I want to run them from usb.

So how do I start all over and fresh file system? And also, how do I stop the retropie from copying all my roms over after I try to populate the emulation station of my roms on my usb?

      Thank you

@usarmyvet Have you followed the steps in https://retropie.org.uk/docs/Running-ROMs-from-a-USB-drive/ ? When you want to run ROMs from an USB drive instead of transfer, the name of the folder is different (retropie-mount vs. retropie).

The first time I inserted the usb, it did it correctly but didn't read half the roms because I unzipped them (I guess?)

But now, it won't add the folders after I formatted the usb. So I put it in the pi, and nothing happens

And yes, I memorized that page. I tried it around 15 times, and ate about 3 hours of my night til I gave up
