I just want to thank everyone who works on retropie. Not only do i have a lot of fun gaming, but over the year or so that it took me to finally tweek my image to perfection, i got a real nice introduction to the world of linux and to the single board computer world as well. Thank you all so much!I feel like i really learned a lot. Keep it up!

Yes me too! I donate whenever I can. It has given me so much joy, not just the playing but the tinkering and tweaking as you say! When I look at my system now, I just can't believe it, especially compared to when it all began. It is truly amazing.
To the devs: Don't let the idiots ruin it. It's a source of absolute joy for many of us, and we know there are many out there trying to ruin and steal it. We are here if you need us. :-)

I second both. After having my programmer career swallowed by one of project manager and only ever using my phone to access Internet, Retropie gave me a reason to dust off my old laptop, tinker with code again, learn new things and simply be curious about stuff under the hood. I’ve missed that, and as said above, that’s part of the reason why Retropie (in the spirit of why the Raspberry Pi board was conceived in the first place) is so especial, not just gaming. Big shout out to you guys!

@cubanrudeboy108 hey you stop that. Don't you know this forum is only for complaining about things when they break? Psh. You with the gratitude...
Anyways. Always good when people are appreciative. Retropie is great.

I want to say thanks as well. Retropie is awesome. I started out like most, just looking for a way to easily play old arcade/console games and decided to give this a try. A year and a half later I'm checking into the forums on a daily basis just to read and see what I can learn next (or maybe help with). I put together a second system for family, and have enjoyed the (endless) pursuit of a perfect setup as much as playing.
I'm amazed with the dedication of the devs/community and all the documentation help/answers available, not to mention all the cool projects and themes people have made. It's incredible.
Thank you again for such a cool hobby.

I’d like to add in my thanks as well. Originally I had a few dozen nes games but I’ve since expanded into hundreds of games for multiple systems and I’ve learned quite a bit of Linux along the way. Currently I’m working on configuring a collection of games for ms-dos and had an amazing time playing TIE Fighter last night. What a game, and what a time we live in!
Also, this thing is an absolute hit at parties. I have it set up in a back room next to my kitchen and half the guests end up in there playing Mario, Frogger or Street Fighter at some point. I get lots of questions about it and love talking about the Raspberry Pi project and Linux.
Contributions to the project are always appreciated, so if you would like to support us with a donation you can do so here.
