      Greetings,
I've downloaded SEGA CD games onto my Retropie (version 4.3). I can access all the games just fine. But the controller seems to not work for games with live actors. For example, I can play Shining Force CD and the controller works. If I play Corpse Killer or Ground Zero Texas, the games load with the their intros. But when it comes time to use the controller or press start, the game doesn't read the controller. Keep in mind I can still access Retroarch and exit the game (basic Retropie controls work). I use and 8bitdo nespro controller. Also, the last time I played Shining Force CD, I tried to use the in-game save (not the Retroarch save). But it said that there was an error and that I couldn't save. I don't know if both situations are related.

@pdugwill6 for saving game you might have to go into retroarch gui, quick menu, options and enable the ramcart or whatever it was called on the sega cd.

I'm having the same problem with Corpse Killer. Has anyone figured out what's going on with the controls? It looks like the rest of my Sega CD games are working.

@thegodmiklos Since it's FPS game, maybe you need an emulator with lightgun support, it might not support regular controllers.

The original Sega CD game manual says that you can use a light gun or a controller so I thought I'd be able to play. Is there a light gun that's compatible with Retropie and LCD TVs? I wouldn't mind playing House of the Dead on Dreamcast.

Light gun support is normally added through mouse input. It has to be supported in the emulator, or in RetroArch's case, the individual cores and the RetroArch software itself. As for the guns, the two most popular solutions are Aimtrak/compatible USB arcade guns and a Wiimote/Dolphinbar/Gun Casing combo. It looks like support has been considered for Reicast, but I don't think any developments have been made. The two SegaCD cores in RetroPie have limited mouse support and I don't believe either is fully operational at the moment.

Ive figured out how to get corpse killer to work on Sega CD with gamepad. Using lr-genesis-plus-gx as emulator for this game. launch it and when in game hit selct-x to bring up retroarch menu and goto controls and set user 1 device type to MD Joypad 6 button. and user 2 device type to MD menacer. I remember something with the original genesis games needing menacer light gun to work by plugging it into port #2.

I got it to work placing cue and bin files into the sega32x roms folder and using lr-picodrive. After launching game, hit selct-x to bring up Retroarch menu. Scroll down to "Options" and set Input device 1 to 3 button pad. and Input device 2 to "None".
