Running script from RetroPie menu as root?

  • RetroPie 4.3.9
    RPI 3

I found a script that someone made to adjust display overscan settings on the fly.
So I decided to add it to the RetroPie menu section of ES, but when I try to launch it the script does not function because it needs to be ran as root.
I tried adding sudo in the <path> of the gamelist.xml but that did not work.
I got the script working with the controller just fine, and I can launch it from the terminal using sudo and it will function without issue, but I can't seem to find a way to launch it with sudo from a shortcut within ES.

    Any ideas?

@madmodder123 Add a script (.sh) with the command in the roms/retropiemenu folder, restart ES and try running it.

  • @mitu Seems a bit odd to launch a shell script for the sole purpose of launching another shell script, but it works. Thank you
