Return to Emulationstation on Inactivity timeout
-
Not sure if this is possible already.
Idea: A good idea would be able to set a default timeout when in-game but still inactive. So after xxx minutes of inactivity (No input) the emulator/game exits (same as using hotkey + exit) so the game returns to Emulationstation where the screensaver will be able to run.
Why: I have made a arcade style cabinet that friends / families can use. Sometime when younger children play they leave the arcade with the game still running. So no screensaver is enabled making some burn-in to my old 4:3 screen. -
@magnum77 i like it but i think it's the kind of thing that would have to be implemented by the emulator - eg, by retroarch. you should ask them: https://forums.libretro.com/c/general/development
basically a setting to exit retroarch if no inputs for X seconds.

@dankcushions Make sense.. Thanks for the feedback.

If that would be used I would hope that it automatically does a save state preferably to a different slot. To prevent loss of progress if it was a unexpectedly long trip away from the game.

I have tried to request this on https://forums.libretro.com/c/general/development.
