first of all apologies if already posted a thread like this but i am unable to find one

im getting this error "Could not successfully build sdl2"

i am running virtual box with ubuntu 17.10.1
i have followed the instructions through this thread https://retropie.org.uk/docs/Debian/
and currently running an update using this code that i did find through a thread
      "sudo MAKEFLAGS="-j1" ./retropie_setup.sh"

im not sure if it is my setup due to running through a virtual box or im missing something obvious, also any direction to find the log file to post up would be appreaciated

      thanks in advance

it was a dependency issue that is now resolved if you update.
