I know how to compress PSX roms, using programs to switch the .bin and .cue files into .eboot etc.

I'm only just getting into the PSP roms - and man, they're massive! Around 1.2GB each! I reallllllly need to know how to make them much smaller without losing sound, etc.

What programs/techniques could I use? Please help!

@nicky_s14 eboot /.pbp files are the most compressed files the PSP emulators within RetroPie can use at the moment.

Okay, but how do I compress the PSP files into .pbp? I don't see any .bin or .cue files, they are all different, with zipped files, R64 files, etc.

I'm starting to guess there's no way to compress PSP files... what do you think?

@jonnykesh Isn't that a format for ps1 games in the psp emulator? I think compressed psp games are of the cso format.

@bobharris yeah. A cso is a compressed iso file. Never has any luck running them myself.

@jonnykesh I've only had experience with .cso on my PSP (works great), but I have no experience with the format on my Pi (only iso's).

@bobharris i tried this a few times http://www.instructables.com/id/How-to-compress-a-ISO-to-a-CSO-PSP-game/ but could not get them to run. I only have a few PSP games so just stuck with pbp files.

CSO compression works fine with PPSSPP.
