Half of controller not working(New to RetroPie)
-
HI, im new to retropie and watched a psone build using orignal controllers and decided to try it out. Heres what i got:
Pi Model : Rasberry Pi 3 model B CanaKit
Power Supply used: CanaKit 2.5A Power Supply
RetroPie Version Used: RetroPie 4.3-rpi2_rpi3
Built From: RetroPie image on this site
USB Devices connected: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000F6BGXY/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Controller used: Original PsOne controller
Guide used: Madlittlepixel's Playstation Pi Case mod tutorial on youtubeI have followed his build guide to some success. Did not want to use his image as i want to put my own games on it. When i booted it up and configured my controller it worked perfectly for a bit. the all of a sudden the dpad stops working and only the O and X button, start and select work. I cant select any other options by using the dpad. I have gotten psx games to work but the controller work for a short time then i will lose dpad function. Yes i had the analog button on and the light on when doing the inital controller config. I have deleted the controller config from the pi multiple times with it recognizing all the buttons or all the buttons minus both sticks. Also notice at one point it randomly pressed buttons without my input. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks.

Update
I bought another of the same psx to usb. the one I linked to above. Works flawless when i plug the psone controller into the psx to usb device. I then soldered wire on top of the existing connection and wired it to the original controller port. Plugging the controller into the original port i get the same issue mentioned above, but i can unplug it and plug it in to the adapter and it works fine. I have also noted i get quite a bit of brownouts when i plug it in to original port. Could it be the power supply is not powerful enough?
