      I can't get save/load to work in lr- cores and not quite sure what to look at. I did a rebuild from a 4.3 image and then updated to RetroPie to 4.3.16, updated Retroarch (1.7.7), Emulationstation (2.7.5RP) & lr-mame2003 (from binary). I left everything else the same.

      My test emulators are lr-mame2003 & lr-fbalpha running under the Arcade folder. Save/load doesn't seem to be working but slot incrementing works fine. I have no idea what to look at but that's copied and pasted directly from my all/retorarch.cfg. The arcade/retroarch.cfg is blank except for 2 shader lines. Any help would be greatly appreciated it.

      # Saves state.
      input_save_state = "up"
      # Loads state.
      input_load_state = "down"

      input_state_slot_increase = "right"
      input_state_slot_decrease = "left"

      EDIT: Player controls from all/retroarch.cfg

      input_player1_up = "up"
      input_player1_down = "down"
      input_player1_left = "left"
      input_player1_right = "right"

        To add a little more information. I have an older image that was built from 4.3 that works fine in both lr-mame2003 and lr-fbalpha for incrementing in addition to loading/saving. I don't know where to find the lr-mame2003 and lr-fbalpha build versions.

        RetroPie 4.3 (patched to 4.3.7)
        Emulationstation (2.6.5RP)
        Retroarch (1.6.7)

          @riverstorm So im thinking you are putting in the wrong values. Check out this from the wiki page:

          https://github.com/RetroPie/RetroPie-Setup/wiki/RetroArch-Configuration

          Scroll down to the section on remapping hotkeys

            Isn't that for a controller? I am coming from an IPAC. Hopefully not to confuse it to much I am actually trying to configure both which worked before.

            I was trying to do a core override but when I pulled it up it only shows how to change basically controller values. I don't know if you pull it up with a keyboard and them maybe it will show keyboard values. Basically the input device dictates what can be changed from RGUI(?) It's always been a bit of confusion to me.

            I did save out the configuration from RGUI which saves all values (several pages) of everything and looking through the big file their seems to be 3 main inputs. Regular keys, ones ending in _btn and ones ending in _axis. I usually just pull from that big file and paste just the change into the smaller system or all/retroarch.cfg.

            I didn't really change anything from what I did in the old working build but not quite sure where to look at to fix the issue as both the keyboard and controller allow me to increment and neither allow me to save.

              @riverstorm Oh im sorry. I must have misunderstood, I thought it was the 360 controllers with which you were having issues. Unfortunately Im not familiar with your setup. Hopefully someone else can chime in and assist.

                I appreciate the help. You're right we were talking about controllers but I also use an IPAC. Basically for old school you can use the arcade panel or you can plug in a wireless dongle and use controllers. Since it's separate input types it's pretty easy to get both working. I've haven't had many issues in the past.

                I just started with a new build on Tuesday from 4.3 and patched all the emulators and core items like RetroPie, ES and Retroarch up to snuff. I think it's something I patched but I am not sure if it's a bug or something I inadvertently did myself. Hopefully someone will have an idea where to look.
