Advice for new setup
-
Hey guys! So here's my current situation. Running a PI2 in the living room and have been getting a ton of use out of it with the wife (wifes LOVE warios woods, btw) and have decided to make a 2nd setup, but much more unique.
I have a 2012 Nissan Titan with a custom installed Android in dash stereo. It features a 7 inch screen, and has composite video inputs on the back. So basically, i ordered a RP3, a headphone jack to composite video cable, heatsink, new case, and 2 black snes usb controllers. My plan is to power the Pi off the stereo (5v usb in the unit in the back), run the video out composite to the head unit, and mount the entire thing behind the stereo. I'm using hard wired controllers to avoid charging/syncing. So the two controllers will be stowed in the pockets beside driver and passenger seats. The Pi will boot up automatically when the truck starts (as its powered off the stereo) and i will have an icon on the home screen to open the video input "app".
My question to all of you??? What advice, tips, or input do you have for me? Anything at all, no matter how small, would be greatly appreciated. I am aware that i could just run emulators off the android unit, but it's just not the same and frankly the unit is already underpowered as is and i'd rather have a dedicated unit for this situation.
What do you think?

@thatisandwas sounds good to me. Give it a try and see if it works. If you have any issues feel free to ask for help.
Don't play and drive! ;)

@quicksilver Definitely won't be playing and driving!! I usually get to work 45 mins early, thats my "me time" in the morning to destress, and i just thought what would be better than playing A Link to the Past before work??? Road trips will also be better now lol

@thatisandwas it's actually a really cool idea. My car has a composite input for the screen in the center of the dash. Might have to borrow your idea :)
