Games won't save

Hi
I am setting up my retropie and I found out that my gba games won't save. Golden Sun showed an error saying that it "didn't find back up data", while Advance Wars said that it saved, but after restarting the game, it started as if no saved data was present. Do you know how to fix this?

Make sure you're actually exiting properly.

If you are actually exiting properly, make sure a save file actually got generated in your rom directory. If it exists, you could try an alternate emulator. I've had some hit and miss results with the way gba handles save data, but usually that only causes problems on the first boot. Messages like save data corrupted and such.
