I’d like to make use of the new 4.4 image, but as I only have a large sd card, starting again (wanted to put “from scratch” but that would only confuse me!) would be awkward - moving roms from the card to storage and then back to the new image plus hi def N64 etc.

I use an ntfs hard drive for my media, which has worked well for Kodi, and I have room to store all my roms there but I’m aware it really should be fat32 for retropie-mount to work? Is there any mileage in trying to use auto mount on there, or do I bite the bullet and really start afresh? I have some large files so changing the drive to fat would be even more awkward.
Alternatively I could just update all my packages on 4.3, so how much am I compromising new features by just doing that? I won’t be using my 3b+, so it’s not an essential migration yet;)

I’ve been following closely all the hard work that’s gone into the new build, you devs must deserve some sleep by now! So apologies for noob questions and thanks for any advice:)

retropie-mount works perfectly fine with NTFS formatted file systems. It's how I've got mine setup with 4.4 right now.
