Player 1 Controller Doesn't Exist

I am having issues with my RetroPie setup. I've had this X-Arcade stick for a while now and I decided to try it out with it. I went through the steps and got the drivers installed but when I try to start a game, it defaults it to player 2 and the other half of the stick is player 3. Its showing another controller as controller 1 when there is no other controller plugged in so I cant get anything to work or respond. I even tried resetting all the information for input devices but it made no difference. It's still showing 3 gamepads as well. Any help would really be appreciated. I'm using a Pi3 and version 4.4.
