Is there any change to the ROMset whatsoever?
Why ask ? There are changes with EVERY new release.
Just finished updating lr-fbalpha with the new codebase, let me know if you find issues.
PS : i didn't add the new dats to the github repo yet. -
@barbudreadmon Thanks!
Can we get it in Retropie thru update from source ? -
-
@barbudreadmon Installed .43 today and played some games. No issues so far.
Only noticed that "the end" still has very low sound (compared to original machine and lr-mame2003). That game has sound effects + some "continuous beating" background music (reminds me of "jaws" soundtrack when the shark comes). Can this be fixed ? -
Woohoo :
Improved DonPachi and DoDonPachi timing to respond to inputs in 2 frames instead of 4 [dink] -

I can change settings by holding START in-game, but I don't know where they are saving...
Any ideas?

@spartan All i can say is that the core is working properly.
-
@barbudreadmon 0.2.97.42 was reading core options

@spartan i'm not sure what you are complaining about, at first i thought you were complaining about core options not being saved/loaded properly, but actually they do ? At the very least they do for me, and anyway it's not something performed by the core.
You are only complaining about one specific dipswitch doing nothing ? Well, there are some dipswitches that do nothing in fba, especially in cps1/cps2 games, the "flip screen" one is another example. Could you explain to me the expected behavior of this "demo sound" dipswitch ?
Edit : nvm, it seems some dipswitches in cps1/cps2 are indeed acting weird, it's probably related to https://github.com/libretro/fbalpha/issues/185 again. To be honest i don't think i'll fix it, the first time i worked on this i severely broke the core for a few dipswitches that seemed totally useless.

@barbudreadmon "Demo Sound" switch was working fine on FBA 0.2.97.42 , it allows to play background music and SFX on the classic Street Fighter intro.
-
@spartan Fixed, i hope it won't cause new issues...
-
@barbudreadmon thanks!!

Is there anything special I need to do to get this to update in Retropie? I just updated lr-fbalpha from source, everything seemed to run fine but it still shows v0.2.97.42 even after a reboot.
-
@semisolidwhale if you updated from source you should get .43.
I’d suggest to retry, first updating retropie setup script and then lr-fba from source. -
@udb23 the binaries should be .43 also. Built last week or so.

@buzz
For information, I just did a full update, and lr-fbalpha is still in 0.2.97.42.
That said, it is for testing, I'm not in a rush to replace my FBA ROMs again :)Edit : My Bad here !
Package description and update scripts indicate 0.2.97.42, but the retroarch menu tells 0.2.97.43 after update. It's just a description issue IMHO.Second edit : I won't open a topic for that, but it seems the /home/pi/RetroPie-Setup/scriptmodules/libretrocores/lr-81.sh was partially edited on windows and has bad new line characters : here is what I get when launching retropie_setup.sh :
/home/pi/RetroPie-Setup/scriptmodules/libretrocores/lr-81.sh: line 2: $'\r': command not found /home/pi/RetroPie-Setup/scriptmodules/libretrocores/lr-81.sh: line 11: $'\r': command not found /home/pi/RetroPie-Setup/scriptmodules/libretrocores/lr-81.sh: line 17: $'\r': command not found /home/pi/RetroPie-Setup/scriptmodules/libretrocores/lr-81.sh: line 18: syntax error near unexpected token `$'{\r'' 'home/pi/RetroPie-Setup/scriptmodules/libretrocores/lr-81.sh: line 18: `function sources_lr-81() {

@sano Have corrected the line endings - will sort the version info for fbalpha. thanks.

Despite having the 0.2.97.43 rom set, I can't manage to get Chuka Taisen (and some other games, have to double check) to run at all. It runs without issue on 0.2.97.42 (which I still have installed on a second pi 3).
This was tested on a fresh RetroPie 4.4 install with all updates applied.
