Question About RGB Adapter Timings
-
I’m new to the Raspberry Pi and RetroPie. I have a GPIO to RGB SCART converter cable from RGB Pi. If I understand correctly there is a script to make this compatible with RetroPie 4.4 which supports the Raspberry Pi 3b+. I have the CanaKit bundle below and am using the official USB power brick.

Here is a post that links to a script supposedly allowing this to work with the RGB Pi cable.

I'm a little familiar with the HDMI timings in the config file. Looking at the GitHub repository for the script the HDMI timings line looks like it’s for the PAL refresh rate. I have a US RGB modded CRT TV with a standardized SCART input I added. It works with the RGB Pi SD card image based on Recalbox which runs at 15KHz 60Hz on my TV but does not work with the latest 3b+. I also realize this is not supported as a non-vanilla RetroPie image, just mentioning it as an example.
My actual question is has anyone been able to test the above script/patch on a vanilla version of RetroPie 4.4 at a US 60Hz refresh rate with an RGB adapter board or cable? I read a lot of cables and adapters using a resistor ladder design are cross compatible.

I tested this with success. But I had to set dtoverlay=dpi24 and dpi_output_format=6 to fix some incorrect colors and use the below NTSC 320x240 timing line:
hdmi_timings=320 1 23 30 34 240 1 4 3 15 0 0 0 60 0 6400000 1
