I apologize in advance if this has been addressed elsewhere. I have a powered USB 3 hub that I had previously used without issue on a PC, but when I connect it to my Pi, Retropie does not detect anything attached to it. Have others had this problem? I have seen old references on google to this being an issue with Pi's, but would like to know if anyone here has the same issue. I am fully aware that it would only work at USB 2 speeds, but the problem is that it doesn't communicate at all. I am able to use to drive some LEDS for back-lighting of my cabinet marquee, so it is powered, but communicating with the Pi.

      DragonRise zero lag joystick controller
Insignia 4 port USB 3 hub, with 3600 mA supply

Edit: I should make it clear that I am not trying to power the Pi from the hub. The Pi is powered from a Canakit 2500mA supply, independent of the 3600mA supply powering the hub. I have never had any issues with lack of power or lightening bolt warnings on the Pi itself/

Pi only has USB 2.0 I have a few usb 3.0 hubs and none of them work on the pi. If you get them on Amazon it helps to read the reviews where people verify they work on the pi.

@herb_fargus Thanks. It's strange that they aren't compatible, but OK, time to get a USB 2 hub rather than playing around trying to get it working I guess.
