Arcade Joystick and Button Controller board recommendations needed for Pi3

Hi Folks,
Apologies if this question has been answered multiple times.
Have just built an Arcade machine and have setup my Retropie (On Pi 3) mutiple times trying to setup arcade 2 Player sticks and buttons through Xin-Mo and also a JUYAO controller boards bought through AliExpress with no success. Apologies if this Question has been asked before, but am currently in the middle of tearing what little hair i have left.
Also, has anybody managed success with installing Xin-Mo with 2 players on a Pi 3?
