      Hi @ll.

I bought a Pi3 and using a original Sony PS3 Controller with integrated BT.
      This seems to work.
Controller can be used in Retropie and retroarch.
Controller is not working within retropie setup, and in games.
GBA doesn´t recognize my Controller, Vice (c64) - configuring Emu can be done with controller, but gaming doesn´t work.

Tried to install kodi using retropie setup. worked. kodi is running, BUT:
When PS3 Controller is on and paired with Pi, controlling Kodi doesn´t work. selection is jumping...
When Controller isn´t paired and off, then kodi can be controlled perfect with keyboard.

      Pi Model: (3)
      RetroPie Version Used: (3.8.0)
      Built From: (SD Image)
USB Devices connected: PS3 Controller (x1)
      Controller used: PS3 Controller (x1)
      Guide used: https://github.com/RetroPie/RetroPie-Setup/wiki/Setting-up-a-PS3-controller
      KODI: 16.1 Jessie

EDIT: today i tried a XBOX 360 Controller. worked like a charm in Kodi, gba, Vice,...
Is RetroPie not compatible with PS3 BT Controller?
btw connection with USB also don´t work.

If RetroPie-Setup says 4.0 it means you updated the RetroPie-Setup script since 3.8.1

You need to provide more details - how did you try and configure the controller ? What sort of keyboard ?

The main changes in the 4.0dev are just GUI related for removing/installing packages.

I had problems like your too. I messed up some settings I believe. You need to reconfigure your controller again. Hit Start so you get into the menu and choose configure input. You need to redefine your keys.

The standard controller settings only work with the libretro emulators, if they're not libretro you need to configurate it differently.

I think there is a bug in Kodi when used a PS controller. I have configured my controller and it works in all emulators but as soon as I open Kodi it's crashing after a while. A keyboard works like a charm within Kodi. If I load up Kodi with the keyboard connected and if I'm in Kodi and connect the controller Kodi crashes.

Configurating Retropie can be a pain in the a$$ but once it works it's great.

There was a bug with the RPi 3 bluetooth but it was fixed in kernel 4.4 and RetroPie 3.8. Apart from that I am not aware of bugs with Playstation controllers. If you are still experiencing problems, post your Kodi log and the output of dmesg.
