      I wonder if the 4 pins are in use or if there just sitting there doing nothing, I want to install a cooler from kintaro but it does not have support for the b+ version because of those 4 pins. I also wonder if I just simply can chop dem off so the heatsink is compatible with the pi.

        IMHO you can chop them.
        They're here to connect a PoE hat in order to enable power over ethernet.
        If you don't plan to use this feature, this sounds safe.

          @tacticalpotato you cant use the pi 2/3b heatsink at all. The cpu and other chip are in different locations and height. Kintaro has a 3b+ version. Not sure if they sell it seperately or only with the pal version snes case that is on pre order. You can contact kintaro on Facebook. They are some nice and responsive people.
