Emulation Station Shutdown

Pi Model: 3b
Power Supply used: Official Raspberry Pi 5.1V 2.5A
RetroPie Version Used: 4.4
Built From: Pre made SD Image on RetroPie website
USB Devices connected: IPAC 2 & Aimtrak gunHi,
I am having what I think is an issue with shutting down Emulation Station.
I can press start and choose "Shutdown Emulation Station" but when I hit "Yes" my Pi appears to shutdown the screen switches off. However, a red LED is still lit on the Pi and anything that is using power from the Pi's USB ports is still operational (I have a small light plugged into the Pi that the backlights the marquee).
The only way to switch it all off is to switch off the power, but I am worried about corrupting the SD card.
Anything I can do to remedy this?

@tuki_cat That's by design - the PI doesn't actually shuts down completely unless you cut the power. There's nothing that software can fix and that's why circuits like Mausberry or AtxPi exist.

@mitu - Thanks.

Try a NESPI+ case ... properly set up, it has a real working power button that triggers shutdown script and actually turns power off to the Pi.
For your own playing, it is not necessary. But if a retropie/kodi/other setup is in a common area / family / kids / etc. it makes things much easier.
