Is it possible to have Kodi run immediately after selecting the system icon rather than selecting it twice?

Post title is pretty self-explanatory. I'd assume I would need to add something in es_systems.cfg that directly links to my kodi.sh file, right?

If you mean launching Kodi directly from the carousel, then no. Emulation Station is not designed to work that way.
