      Hi All,

Using Retropie 3.8.1 / RP3 model B from a clean IMG install. I can successfully map a WIRED PS3 controller (in fact 2 controllers) in emulation station. I then launch a PS1 game (e.g. Gran Turismo v1.1). While using the default PSX emulator (lr-pcsx-rearmed) I enter into Retroarch (select + triangle) so i can configure the controllers to be analog:

      • Select + triangle > Quick Menu > Controls > User 1 Device Type = Retropad w/ Analog (changed from Retropad)
      • Select + triangle > Quick Menu > Options > Pad 1 Type = analog (changed from standard)

I then attempt to 'Resume' from the 'Quick Menu' but the emulator crashes and returns back to the emulation station menu. From this moment onward I am not able to launch any PSX game from emulation station - it just returns back to the launch menu.
Note that I have tried this several times using a fresh SD card install from the IMG file v3.8.1:

      Questions:

      1. I noticed the Retroarch menu has changed since the last version of Retropie I was using (3.6). Am I doing something that I shouldn't be?
      2. Is there an easier way to switch from digital to analog controllers for the PSX emulator lr-pcsx-rearmed?
      3. I noticed in 3.6 that if the controllers were configured and saved as analog controllers, then games that did not have native analog support (e.g. Tom Raider) would not even recognise the analog controller and you would have to change back to digital controller on the fly, then resume (which actually worked). Hopefully there is a solution to this issue in 3.8.1

Great forum and community and hope some of you have a suggestion.

      Thanks,

Ok, so this looks like a known issue. Should this thread be removed or is the redirect link ok for this topic?

You can leave this here - just reinstall from binary and it should be fixed.

Do you think this issue will be fixed for the 3.9 release? I have always installed the *img file and copied to SD card via Win32DiskImager. Are there instructions on how to rebuild from binary? Is it just lr-pcsx-rearmed that is re-installed or the entire package?

It is already fixed. You just need to update the lr-pcsx-rearmed binary manually from RetroPie-Setup menu 5.

@PetroRie @BuZz I haven't tried it yet will attempt the update in about 4 hours and let you know. I will try the update after performing a clean SD card image of 3.8.1. I really hope it works and will keep you posted.

@PetroRie I did the updaate as per BuZz recommendation and it worked for me

@BuZz Thank you very much, worked very well. Note that I did the binary update right after a clean SD install
