I download a pre-packaged image of set with ROMs to simplify the setup and I've gotten most of it working properly. My biggest issue with it now is that all games load with an overlay of a Commodore 1084 monitor frame around the games and it doesn't use the full resolution of the monitor. In effect, I can only see about half of the actual game screen.

I can reload from a new image (which I will do as soon as I get some more, large Micro SD cards in) but I'm hopeful that someone can tell me why this is happening and how to fix this.

RPi 2 B, RetroPie 3.8 (4.4.11-v7+), 1280x1024 monitor (HDMI to DVI) dispmanx and using native or fixed resolutions.

      Any ideas?

It was a pre-packaged RetroPie image with Commodore ROMs? That's no good. I am sure it's a simple tweak with an overlay or something but if it was all pre-packaged god only knows what they have all done. :(

Understood. I'll take another look at the overlays or doing a fresh install and copying ROMs into place.

As I expected, the overlays works properly at 1080p, so if others are having overlay obscuring part of the screen using a lesser resolution (4:3 in particular), 1080p is one way to fix it. ;-)
