![Hello everyone! I received my raspberry pi as a gift and don't know too much about programing. That being said, I have been able to follow directions and get the pi running. I was able to send it out to a friend who got the device to recognize a hard drive connect through the usb that I can drop games onto. That all seems to work great. My only issue has been getting a bluetooth controller to consistently work with the pi. I bought an xbox one bluetooth controller (1708) and cannot get it to sync. I was able to disable ETRC and still I can't get it to pair.I have gotten an 8bitdo SFC30 to work, but after some testing on other devices there is the kind of lag I would never want in a conttroller (unless this could be fixed). My next step that I have taken is ordered wii u pro controllers which I know will pair with other devices so no big deal if they don't work, but I am really unable to enjoy a great thing. Can anybody out there help me out finding a pairing a bluetooth controller? PLEASE! thanks lol

Please give more details about your system - https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/3/read-this-first.

Bluetooth connection can induce lag, but I suggest you test first with a wired controller (I think the SFC30 has this option) to see if it's the lag disappears or if there are other factors that add lag. Make sure your TV is set to Game Mode - if that's what you're using.

One method to improve the Bluetooth connection - and reduce the input lag - is to get an external BT USB adapter and disable the onboard BT or to disable the Wifi on the Pi. The 3B+ model has a better wireless chip (BT and WiFi), but since you didn't provide any info about your device, it's hard to determine what's the status on that.
