Retroarch not showing in any of the emulators, any help?

New raspberry pi 3 b+, set up with retroarch. everything was running perfect til I tried to access retroarch menu from the gba, and the pc engine emulators. nothing happens

@caricolt9900 How are you trying to access the menu RA Gui ? It's usually Hotkey + X, so make sure you use whatever button you chose as Hotkeyduring the controller setup.

tried it also but no luck, this raspberry pi is new, i have my own and its not a problem. I cant figure out what its happening that its not showing in any of the emulators i tried. gba, snes or pc engine

I tried the hotkey + x and got it to work once, im starting to think the problem is my controller. im using a wired xbox 360 controller, wich in my pi i had no problems with. In the new pi when i configure it, it skips the left trigger.
